Lionel Messi has claimed the final spot in Goal’s Ultimate Clasico XI, comfortably seeing off competition from Raul and Ronaldo.
The Argentine joins a front three which already features Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldinho after they were voted into the side earlier this week.
Messi received 64 per cent of over 50,000 votes, with Ronaldo taking second place with 16%.
Madrid legend Raul was narrowly behind his former team-mate with 15%, while Samuel Eto’o, Hugo Sanchez, Ladislao Kuala and Ferenc Puskas accounted for just 5% between them.
Nobody has scored more Clasico goals than Messi - he has 21 in all competitions and is followed by Alfredo Di Stefano (18) and Raul and Cristiano Ronaldo (both 15). If passed fit, the 28-year-old will be looking to increase his lead over Di Stefano.
He has returned to training this week after injuring his knee ligaments against Las Palmas in September and looks likely to play some part at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.
